Went up to Big Jim's cabin this morning and put in about 7:15. We fished down river today toward Possom Creek. 1st cast I brought in a 12 in black crappie and told Jim, "this is a good omen, I hope!" and it turned out to be a pretty good trip today. Right away Jim caught a nice 15 & 1/2 inch crappie so that is his second time to fish with me and caught a TARP crappie on each trip. He's pretty happy with dock shooting, emoThumbsup emoBig We had to cover quite a bit of territory to find numbers but in spite of the wind we ended up with an even 50 crappie. There were a lot of throw backs today, probably 60 % but we also caught some nice fish too. Jim hooked and fought a really nice, 18 in small mouth which I managed to net and brought him in to get his picture taken with Jim. It was a good fight with the 4 lb line, including 3 or 4 really nice jumps, emoEek We thought sure he was gonna get off but didn't, emoThumbsup We caught 2 or 3 spaaatts and 1 little 'gill to round out the day. There didn't seem to be any particular BG that they liked as we caught fish on several colors. Water temp was down to 63-67* today, just a bit cooler than last week's temps.
In the last 6 trips crappie fishing we have had 6 TARP crappie come to the boat, emoDance That's great for me and for my back seat riders, emoThumbsup As RSimms says, "Life is good and gettin' better!" emoThumbsup emoFish
