Heading to the South Fork campground about 10 miles from pineview to camp with the family next weekend. I have never fished this area, so wondered if anyone knows if it is worth fishing or not, and if so, any tips on what to use.
Thanks

The south fork is a fun river to fish. Like all streams, however, it has its challenges. Because of all the campgrounds/people nearby, the fish are much easier to spook. But you should catch fish if you use a little more stealth/patience. My experience on the south fork is that you should pay very close attention to any spot that will hold a fish where there is plenty of cover and little chance of foot traffic. I've caught fish in 4" of water running under a bank, when the deep pool 5' to the side of it has 0 fish in it.
The flys i've done best on are beadless pheasant tails and beadless hares ears in size 16-18. Im not sure why, but I always do better on the ogden/south fork using beadless flys.
