Took the pontoon to the knolls this morning and the fishing was tough. Managed 5 white bass . Met AnglerDan . Nice guy. Couldn't get the kitties to play today. Weather was fine,
not much wind all morning. Arrives at 0600 and left at noon.

Monday was much better. I saw you kicking in when I was motoring out to the point. Sorry you had to leave early cause of your back. wagdog and I stayed until about 2pm when we got tired of catching white bass. [cool]

Did it work this time?

I wont have that back problem with that tube again. Least I hope not. In the process of modifying a chair for it so I will have support. The toon is never a problem cause it has a chair . Get any kitties to play Monday?

[cool][#0000ff]I was going to suggest a chair insert. I can't fish very long without mine.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I think I recognize those jigs.[/#0000ff]

those jigs are super pat. can't imagine not having any now.

[cool][#0000ff]If you look at the post I put up today there are several fish of several species wearing those jigs. Must be the new fashion rage at Utah Lake...and other waters.[/#0000ff]

I saw that post Pat. Monday I did manage a couple bass and 2 kitties with that same jig. Couldn't call them in today.
Maybe this weekend for the motor mount, say saturday maybe.

So, I don't recognize the jigs. What are they and what's special about them...?

man i need to get our more good lookin white bass knolls is utah lake right?

Tubedude makes these jigs. They are like fish magnets. They catch multiple species in multiple waters and come in different colors. They tend to last longer than store bought stuff. And they are very affordable.

yep, the knolls is on the west side of utah lake. just take redwood road thru Saratoga Springs and you will stay on that road til you come to mile marker 19. Turn down that road and go right to the water. Sorry I can't remember the highway #.

[cool][#0000ff]Maybe this will help...with some info on the Knolls.[/#0000ff]

[quote Springbuck] So, I don't recognize the jigs. What are they and what's special about them...?[/quote]
[cool][#0000ff]They are 1 1/2" tube jigs. The plastics are made by Southern Pro...Lil Hustler scale heads. Sportsmans, Cabelas and Barlows all sell them. The best color seems to be the red sparkle with a chartreuse tail, but there are quite a few colors that are "whitie candy".[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I make the heads on super sharp red Matzuo sickle hooks. I usually use size 4 hooks...on either 1/16 or 1/32 oz. "minnow" heads...especially designed to hold tubes. I also make and use a lot of "Roadrunner" heads with the little spinners. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Those jigs...in that color...catch just about every species of fish in Utah. They are deadly on trout, perch walleyes, catfish, crappies, wipers...even carp. A whole lot of the pics I post have one of them hanging out the mouth of the fish I just caught.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]See pic below.[/#0000ff]

And I have caught white bass, crappie, and carp (grrrr) on them. Those roadrunners thrown parallel to the shoreline and retrieved quickly were white bass candy the other day. My arm is still sore from setting the hook on them thangs [cool]

TD I have noticed the chair in the many pics of your fabulous floating machine. I am curious, are these made for tubes and tunes. I guess I assumed that it was somthing you had engineered as one of the many additions to your tube. If they are made where do you buy them. Gettin older and sitting in the low slung soft fabric seat that is a back breaker.
[signature]
[cool][#0000ff]I have always had a bit of lower back problem when I sit too long without adequate support. Over the years since I "graduated" from round tubes to V-boats I have continually experimented with different types of seat additions to extend the height of the back support or to provide more stable and comfortable lower seating. Those things are much better on most pontoons. Tougher on tubes.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I have tried a variety of cut-down white plastic lawn chairs...with good success. I have also used a couple of different fold down models of stadium seats. Also worked well. But, by far the most comfortable and easiest to use are the formed plastic seats from stack chairs. These are found in most schools and many offices. All you have to do is remove the metal legs and sand down any rough spots on the bottom. Just drop them onto the tube seat, adjust the back rest accordingly and you are good to go.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Most of my current reports include pics of my green office chair seat. Here are some pics of past mods.[/#0000ff]
