I had never tried fishing for white bass so my son and I decided to try Friday 5/21. Stopped by the Jordan river outlet. Too many people there and I don't speak Spanish. Went to Pelican Bay and fished around the harbor. Fishing was slow. Two fish. We then decided to try The Knolls. Nobody was there. We had the place to ourselves. got there about 1:00 pm. Two casts and fish on. Fishing was hot. The picture shows the results of 45 minutes of fishing. 25 white bass. Fishing was good until about 2:30 pm. Then it slowed down. Left at 3:00 pm with 72 white bass.

Funny how things go. I started at the Knolls and did poorly in the late morning, so I headed up tot the Pelican Bay Marina. Zilched at a small point behind the big house, then cast into the impoundment around the boat launch and got a few around late afternoon. Shoulda stuck it out at the Knolls, eh?

The white bass are all over now, but they will tend to go shallower in the heat of the day and afternoon....the knolls is nice n shallow. That probably explains the catchin in the after noon. When I have hit saratoga and done well it was really early in the morning and they were in the deeper (5') of water and caught a ton.....in the PM...no go.
