I fought the early moring fog to get to the lake this AM only to see some of the same fog on the water, :o Some places it wasn't safe to run much over "just barely plane", you just couldn't see, emoRolleyes Met Catfish1 (Jim) just before 7, unloaded and was fishing by 6:58 AM emoTongue First cast, a nice 12 inch crappie and I told Jim, "This is gonna be a good day!" and it was, emoBig We fished blow downs, bluffs, docks, and "secret crappie condos", ending the day with 95 crappie, 1 shellcracker, 2 spaaatttss, and a 'gill. Some of the crappie bite was very suttle, just a tiny slack in the line and if you weren't really watching you wouldn't know he was even there, emoEek Keeper rate was about 65% with several fish over 12 inches. I added to the TARP numbers, (now 9 for the year) and we had 3 or 4 others which were over 13 & 3/4 in. Sure was a lot of fun. Jim is gettin' better at shooting the jig out, only a minimum of "ahh shoo*%#'s for the day, emoPoke He's learning fast and I'll soon just be the net boy for him when we're fishing together, emoCool
It was a beautiful day, a little hot by quitting time, 2 PM but lots of fun. Water temp was 74* in most places with very little wind. The pleasure boaters have shown up in force so guess we'll have to ride the waves 'till fall now, emoAngry Bait was 1/32nd and 1/16th leadheads with BG shads, patroit, double rainbow, blue thunder, blue ice seemed to catch about the same amount and size fish today, emoThumbsup I enjoyed fishing with Catfish1 and lookin' forward to another trip soon, emoThumbsup
All today's fish returned to the deep to get bigger, emoDance emoFish
