Saturday night was perfect on the water, with almost a full moon, hardly any wind. We caught most of our fish on Zoom 10.5" Watermelon color worms and Zoom humdingers. My son Chris threw a baby rebel white & orange belly shallow running crankbait in front of a lighted dock catching several 2 lb fish. I tried my best both nights to land a big bite on a buzz bait but no takers on this trip. We landed all our fish in shallow water with tree tops and around boat docks 3-7 feet of water.

We fished in the North Sauty and South Sauty areas Friday and Saturday nights boating 20+ bass each night. Water Temp was 73- 77 degrees. Fishing mostly worms. We had 6 fish over 4lbs and couple of 5+ then late Saturday night within 30 minutes of each other Chris and I landed two 6lb+ largemouths. We would have had boated more big fish but lost them in the fight. My grandaughter Taylor had what looked like a 4 lb spot that jumped three feet in the air but got off. Taylor who is 14 years old, got 4 fish to the boat and was excited about her first night fishing experience. I think she is hook on bass fishing for life. It was one of those fishing trips that you receive a raw left thumb from not having much skin left on it.
We always practice catch and release.

Sorry no pictures to share, it being at night the quality wasn't good enough to post

May your nets stay wet!

Basshopper
