i need advice on upper river fishing! i live near a dam and have gone to it often and never caught a thing haha to be honest i dont know how to fish rapids or and flowing rivers! its the Catawba river dam if anyone has any tips! []

i tried to catch some gar and some bass and anything really but havent caught a thing [laugh]

I am not fimilar to the river you mentioned.

the first question would be is,

how are you aproaching the river?

[ul][li]are you fishing off the side wall of the dam?[/li][li]are you fishing from shore?[/li][li]are you going up river by boat?[/li][/ul]
The second question is

[ul][li]What type of equipment are you attempting to use, Fly or Casting?[/li][/ul]and finaly is what are you hoping to catch?
