I am in need of new line. I use a large spinning reel to fish for Striped bass in Pickwick, TN. I don't know if any of you know what it's like there but there water is fast, there are big rock, other people's lines, and many other things that are very hard on the line. I bought 50lbs Spiderwire and have been extremely unhappy with it. Especially with it snapping at the knot with only a small tug by me, definitely NOT 50lbs worth of tension. People have told me to try Power Pro and other lines, but I was hoping to get some help here. Any suggestions on an affordable but strong line would be great.

Stay with the braid, but use a polamer knot.Never had one let go as long as I tied it right. Powerpro and Fireline are my faverites.

Thank you for the advice. I believe I will try the Power Pro. I always use Palomer knots with braided lines and the Spiderwire still snaps at the knot. Perhaps until I get the Power Pro i should try the triple Palomer.
