I am trying to find some small perch near Idaho Falls. Don't mind driving a small distance, maybe Rexburg or so. I just want to find some small 3"-4" perch. I tried Roberts Pond, but couldn't get them. Thanks for any help.

Wow if you couldn't get them to go at Roberts I don't know where you should try. Maybe Ririe. They will move up into the flooded willows soon. to spawn. I have heard they are easier to catch on the Blacktail side. On the other side you will need a boat to get back into the brush.

Despite some reports there are a few perch left in mudlake but they are far and few between right now.

O' I just had an epiphany. THE REXBURG NATURE POND!!! There are some small perch in there. Just go with a size 10 or 12 baitholder and small piece of worm on the bottom. I caught some the other day while fishing for stockers with my kids. We were using worms and garlic marshmellows.

Good Luck

Something to try is a #10 Gold Trout egg hook and a small piece of worm. These hooks I have learned work better with Perch as they have a slightly wider opening and seem to hook them in the upper lip just about every time. My catch rate improved greatly with these hooks.
As where to go, Roberts is about the easiest place to catch them. Never tried the Rexburg nature pond, but that sounds promising.

I would have thought they would have spawned already. They spawn in 44-55 degree water. Though with this year, who knows. Maybe it hasn't even gotten that high up there [:/]

I don't know if they have spawned yet, but you can usually find them in the flooded brush for a few weeks. The flooded brush is easy to find because there isn't much of it.

The Perch should have spawned about 2-3 weeks ago. I know they did in my pond all ready.

They are done at carey lake with spawning. Ron

same...if not Roberts I would hit Blacktail. Just park at upper parking lot and walk down to res...from there north to swimming area would be your best option from the bank.

I will give Blacktail a try, and also the Rexburg Nature Pond. I normally don't fish for Perch, so thanks for the help everyone.
