Anybody have experience with these?

Maybe of limited use for narrow, deep, slow rivers...

[cool][#0000ff]Another great marketing idea designed to catch (gullible) fishermen and not fish.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I can't think of anything less practical for tubing or tubing. Almost as bad as the old FishMaster side flappers.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]A big part of my propulsion in a tube is being able to apply power to both the up and down kicking motion. It is also very difficult to execute turns or other maneuvers without being able to dig in on the upstroke.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Thanks for sharing that. I needed a laugh.[/#0000ff]

I don;t see how they can work without overstressing you and making you tired before your fishing adventure is over. I would recommend a good pair of fins that will propell you without the added stress factor.

Someone here got to try those so we can put this to rest.

A little funky and I don't see the need for them, but there must be a reason someone invented them.

Man this is really going to date me, but ---their design is not much different than something that was available clear back when float tubes were new. Then it was a panel on a hinge that strapped to the bottom of your shoe. You could make your own. They were supposed to be good for combination of wadding and fishing. A lot of the earliest float tubes were so uncomfortable you didn't float much of the time. The pain would have killed you!! You stayed in the shallows or crossed to other shallows to fish. The tube was more of an aid to "deep wadding" in shallow lakes and sloughs. We did some actual float tube fishing, but not nearly as much as we do now. So to move in a forward direction for short distances was normal. But you did not move fast anywhere!!

Then tubes and seats improved and so people started using them to move more, faster, and felt safer to float out deeper. Fins are the main mode now.

I can't see much use for forward fins now, unless you do a lot of "half-walking" style fishing.

I've never tried them but I really would like to have some fins that would allow me to stay in one place when facing the shore and casting poppers for bass into the wind. I've seen a couple other styles but nothing that looks like it would work very well.

I'm thinking about something that I can easily strap onto my lower legs around my calf area that is spring loaded such that it folds back when I kick forward and flares out when I pull my leg back. Hopefully I could leave my Force Fins on and just leave hold my feet horizontal.
