I took a note from windriver and decided to make my first post.

My sister called me and wanted to go me to go fishing with her and her husband to the hayspur fish hatchery. I'd been by there plenty of times on my way to Silver Creek, but I'd never stopped by. It was a fun trip. It is a great place for learning to fly fish. My sister had never tried fly fishing before, but it was a great place to learn and teach. It has very few trees for an easy back cast and plenty of naive fish. I caught plenty, my sister caught her first couple fish and the weather was great. Great group atmosphere compared to "the creek."

Sounds like a great place to take little ones too. Is it a large pond or a creek?

We fished at a place called "Gaver's Lagoon." Its just a small impoundment of the creek, but it is stocked regularly. There is a small current to drift flies a little, but its pretty calm. Kids would love it.

Thanks for the report and welcome to the board. I have never heard of this place and I thought I knew all the beginner spots. Goes to show there is always more to learn about this great state. Hope to hear from you often.
