Idaho Fish and Game Commission announced today that they are extending the Chinook Salmon fishing season on the main Clearwater River above the Orofino Bridge and the Middle Fork of the Clearwater until at least June 20. They based the extension on the high, muddy water of the last week that has kept anglers from catching the number of fish they had anticipated.
Now the river is clearing and dropping and anglers are catching fish in that portion of the Clearwater. Take advantage of the extension to get out and go for the big ones.
Since weather and river conditions are very changeable at this time of year, it is a good idea for anglers to check with us before heading out, especially if they are coming from a long distance. Call 208-476-3531 and we'll give you the latest.
