Went camping at paliSades this weekend and took my nephews and nieces out fishing.Started out by forgetting the worms and powerbait not a good way to start. So i had the kids chase minnows in the shallows with cups a great distraction for 4-10 year olds! They liked that better than the fishing. My son was jigging spoons and caught a 12 inch rainbow at paliSades. Thats all the fish that were caught there. Then we headed over to huntington and the temps was 59 with the wind blowing hard.My wife caught her tiger there about 15 inches and we let it go to get bigger. I didnt get a bite but i didnt notice the dead dear in the water by me maybe thats why i wasnt getting bites there .Then we moved on to e-lake and fished by the dam .There were 3 dead elk in the water and the wind was still blowing really bad .We all got skunked there and not even a bite ! I was wondering if the elk smell in the water had driven the fish away probably because i never get skunked there! Well the kids had fun even though they didnt catch any fish but they did have fun catching minnows .It was a great family campout .

See any minnows by the shore at Electric Lake.

Thats what i mainly went there for but didnt see any. I think the smell in the water from the 3 dead elk may have had something to do with the lack of fish and minnows by the dam.Didnt have time to go try the other side maybe i will head up there this weekend.

i was up at E-Lake this weekend on the north end. I did not see very many minnows and the ones i saw were pretty small. The lake was really muddy due to the run off.. We fished for about and hour and then decided to hit Scofeild.
