Went out Friday afternoon with my boys. It was 11 year olds first time using his only fly rod. I helped him get the line out and helped him so that he could get the hang of it in a float tube. Right off the bat he hooked into one. It was a jumper and after a good fight he got it in and landed it. It was about 17". Helped him get the line out again and he had another one on that he lost right at the tube. He missed four other before I got my first bight. My boy used a spinning rod trolling a fly and he missed several fish as well. We only fished for about 3 hours and ended catching 7 fish. My boy hasn't let me live it down that he caught the first and biggest fish. Proud day for a Dad.

That is great. I sure love hearing about kids having a good experience.

What were they hitting?

Nice [cool] days like that give you perm a grin

Yellow or Peacock Curl. I really don't think that it matters what kind of fly you put out there. They are very eager to bite. FYI the people fishing from the bank using worm were catching a lot as well.
