im from back east . every spring my old man would drag me in the woods to help him look for morel mushrooms. they are a delicasy truth be told. moved to Utah didnt think would be out here. sure enough looked down at work the other day found 10 or so growing in the mulch outside our buliding! does anyone know when they start appearing in utah? these ones were a bit dried out. im sure they get this way quick with the arid climate.

Any info would be greatly ppreiated

morels start flushing in early april and are usually done by now. the ones you found landscape morels are bonus morels. I start looking for the when the ground temps hit 50 degrees consistantly. I have picked about 10 pounds this year of yellow morels( morchella esculata) along the riverbottom habitat here in Idaho.

you are a bit late. Maybe the cold weather has a few still coming out. It seems like around the first part of may is the best time for my family in Northern Utah. Always best along the riverbottoms.
