[fishin]My husband and I and two young kids are headed up to Alexander reservoir for the free fishing day this Saturday. Anyone know of some good places to fish there that are easily accessible for young children?

Also we thought it would be fun to participate in the fishing derby to clean out the carp since carp are fun to fight. But we've never fished for just for carp. Only caught them by accident in the past. How do you fish for them and with what baits work best?

Sorry that I don't know much about Alexander or catching carp. I have only caught carp by accident on flies as I was fishing for other species.

From what others have said the carp will take anything from worms to bread.

There is a public access close to the west end of the lake. You should see the signs as you head toward Soda.

Hopefully someone else will be able to help you more.

Just go into soda and follow the signs for the hospital and drive right passed it you will see the bridge.... good luck to ya...
