The wife asked what I want for Father's Day. I want to go somewhere new and catch warm water fish. We stopped by McTucker this winter and drilled a hole in a pond but nothing bit. Anybody have any reports lately?

Took the family out about 3 weeks ago and no bites on crawlers...we typically see little bass or perch by the docks and they are fun for the kids to do fly fishing with....not this time around...
I heard the stocked them in the last week for free fishing day...hopefully it will pick up for ya...make sure to take mosquito spray for sure...
Let us know how you do...
Good luck

Wish I knew something, but I don't. (Just ask my family![laugh])
If you go let us know how it is.
I have heard that sometimes in years past that the river/reservoir floods into some of that area in the spring if there is a lot of water coming down.

Yeah I went down there a week ago looking for a place to take the grandkids. It was disappointing. Not much good fish action in the ponds and the river was so high it was booming almost over the banks with dark brown water.

I fished Mctucker twice last week and had different results both times. I went out Wednesday (8:30-11am) and slayed the planters with a size 10, 2x hook with a yellow rubber legged foam spider. I brought in a dozen, kept 6, and had lots of other bites and a few that came of the hook. That was on the back pond closest to the stream. Before I got to the pond, I heard another fisherman caught a good sized bass out of it. After that I went to a few other ponds and played with the bluegill for a few hours. Lots of bites on the foam spider as well.
I went out early Saturday morning (5:30-8am) before all of the free fishermen came out and had a few bites on the yellow spiders and then things went dead for the rest of the day. I ended up doing some nymphing with some success but it was nothing like Wednesday had been. When all the free fishers showed up, it didn't sound like they were having great luck on worms or powerbait either.
Good luck!

Holy Cow!!! Those are some BIG bluegills! It is a wonder the mosquitoes don't fly off with them. If I remember correctly The mosquitoes are at least 6 inches long. Maybe we should fillet them!

Are you sure they were BG or were they Green Sunfish?

I caught both. All of the ones I caught were about the same size, with the sunfish on the smaller range of the two. After catching a few I stopped netting them and started flipping them off the hook when they got close.
