I have a few year old caddis float tube Navigator style. last week coming off the lake I noticed a 8" or so tear in the Nylon part of the boat. The bladder was not even scratched?? First off I have no idea how it happened....secondly what is the best way to repair it and not so the tear will get anyworse??
Thanks for any help you all can give me!!

Do you sew? Depending on where the rip is, you would need to patch it. Use a similar, strong nylon material, and nylon thread. Keep everything as smooth as possible and double stitch. etc.
If you don't sew. Take it to an upholstery shop and get a quote. You might also check at the dry cleaners in your area for people that do clothing repairs and alterations. They might be able to do it for you.

Like what C said, a patch, but I would worry that it isn't done yet. If you have no idea how this happened and 8" is pretty big, maybe the cloth is worn.
You can get some good material from a TENT shop. I would also think about coating the stitches with aquaseal.
And PLEASE keep a close eye on the rest of the tube. Be safe!
