Headed to Guntersville again with my buds at Big Daddy's. They drug their frined Rob along, who moved here from England lasts year. To say that he thinks southerners are loony is an understatement, but he was really curious about this noodling thing.
We met at a lesser used boat ramp, and they came by water to pick us up.
The very first hole was DEEP, about 6 feet to the top of it. The cavity was big enough for Osama binLaden to hide in! It was very tough to swim down that far and then get 6 feet back into the hole let me tell you. I was about to say uncle when a good fish hammered and I was able to get it wrapped up good and extract it from the hole. Problem was, when I got to the top, I certainly could not stand with a fish on both arms, I was litterly fighting to survive now and lucky I had Rob and Skyler there to drag me to shore......AFTER I started yelling to PULL ME TO SHORE! emoHoppingmad emoLaugh emoLaugh
It turned out to be a nice 28lb flathead. There was another fish in that hole, but after a couple dives I opted for an easier hole!
We stumbled upon a new to us hole and found a good fish ready to party with us. Rob tried hard, but it wasnt his time yet. Storm really wanted this fis so we would go down together and fianlly we got it to the enrance and she latched onto it (or it to her I guess). emoLaugh
I could tell she was struggling to yank it so I grabbed it and yanked, only to wedge it worse, I ran out of breath and had to come up, Storm still down there hanging on fighting it. I dove down, and we switched hands and I came up with it! It would have surely gotten away without her staying with it while ol dad was gasping. I was so proud of her! emoApplause emoApplause It weighed in at a nice 16 lbs.
Next we worked on getting Rob a fish, we decded the hole from last week when we got teh 343 and the 60lb would be the hole to get one. We eased up and Rob went in. He didnt feel a fish, so I went down to check it out, FISH HOME! Over the next ten minutes this fish beat on my hands, the rod and the walls of this cave like crazy. He really fooled me, I was thiking it was twice the size it was by how hard he fought. For some reason, he just didnt like the way Rob tasted, as it would not bite him, so I figured it was time to get-er-done. I pulled it forwad from teh back and Rob reached in and got chopmed. He drug it up and almost lost it at teh top of the water...and Rob aint no small guy!
Still a great 22lb fish! He said he was not going to tell his father back in the UK, as he was already questioning his mental capacity over some other things hes done. emoCrazy emoBig emoLaugh
It was another great trip down there, and we still have tons of places I want to try out there.
http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww68/....jpg
http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww68/....jpg
http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww68/....jpg
http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww68/....jpg
http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww68/....jpg
http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww68/....jpg
http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww68/....jpg
http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww68/....jpg
