My wife and I went fishing this afternoon at Floyd Lamb. We fished the lower pond by the stone benches. The Bluegill are biting pretty good although the bite gets interrupted by the occasional bass cruising through chasing the gills. Lots of baby bass around. They seemed to like my little black swivel. My wife outfished me and caught a huge bluegill that had to be at least 10 inches long. He was big enough for me to easily stick my thumb in his mouth. He swallowed the hook but I think he'll survive. I cut off the hook at the eye. I sure hope he does. Its a sure sign that things are improving in that little pond. More bass big enough to eat the little gills mean more bigger gills in the future and better bass fishing.
