As of 06/19/2010, after an increase in the salmon run over the past couple of weeks, the Department of Fish and Game opened the Kenai River to bait fishing. A size limit is still in effect allowing anglers to keep fish less than 46 inches as well as greater than 55 inches. It was a challenging start to the Alaska Fishing season, but has finally come full circle with the promise of a chance to catch the elusive King Salmon.
