I am hoping to hike around the Mirror Lake area tomorrow and wanted to see if anyone has new information in the last 24-48 hours on conditions up there. Is Mirror Lake 100% ice free now? Is there too much snowpack on the slopes still?
Any information would be greatly appreciated....
Thanks,

Just fished Mirror today. As a matter of a fact just got home around 8pm because we stopped at the Cafe in Kamas and ate, UMMMMM good.
Anyway, the lakes are all ice free and I spoke with the DNR personel that were stocking the lake today, it was the first stocking of the season this week for most of the lakes up there and they said that this will be a year where there won't be alot of stocking going on due to the lakes ice coming off a little later than usuall and also due to money cut backs within the DNR. They are taking the stocking money and putting it else where.
The fishing was not good at all fished the whole lake on the pontoon all day from 9 am to about 5pm and between 4 of us we only caught 6 fish all day. Even the bait fishermen we spoke to said that almost all of the lakes up there are fishing really really slow. We saw a bear when we were on our way down to Mirror in the morning, we stopped at Hayden Peak pull out to look down on Moosehorn, which still has a little ice, and on the back far side we saw what we at first thought was a calf moose. Upon closer exam through the binos we saw it was a bear when it moved.
Overall it was a good day to be outside, wind was cold on the water, fishing could have been ALOT better, but just nice not to be working.

Fished up above 10,000 feet in the weber river drainage on Tuesday and Wednesday. Ice has just come off the higher lakes. Still a lot of snow on the north facing slopes and all the trails are like small rivers. Very wet and sloppy. Good fishing for Grayling and a few cutt and brookies.
