Hit the Chick solo today around 6:30AM solo. Hit a dock and boated 2 shorts on a shakey head right off the bat. Decided to head up river and fished a ledge/hump that I had been looking at since last year. Caught a spot and a short LM on a Sammy from some schoolers there and got a channel and blue cat on drop shop powerminnows. Lots of activity but as usual the schoolers were always 10 feet further away than I could cast.
Headed back down river to fish the nuke for a while, boy did everyone else have the same idea. I counted at times up to 5 boats fishing the red and green boueys. Unreal. I decided to fish the ledge from the red bouey to the bluff. First cast I stick and boat a 9 lb blue. Proceeded to catch 5 more blues all on drop shot powerminnow. Great fun on 6 lb line and spinning gear.
Left there and headed back to Harrison Bay. Fished a mid lake hump and boated 5 more bass on drop shot powerminnows. I took a pick of the screen shot of these fish feeding. I got at least 2 of the 5 out of this school.
Hung it up at 10:15 or so. Wanted to get out of the water before the preasure boaters started putting in since I was solo. Totals for this morning was 1 spot, 8 largemouth (3 keepers total weight around 7 lbs), 1 channel cat and 7 blue cats (9 lb, 7 lb, 6 lb, and the rest were less than 5). Pretty fun few hours.
