I have not been to the basin much this year and I have never fished Steineker. I'm going to be up there in three weeks to fish for bass and I was wondering if anybody had some info. they could share with me. If you could tell me a lake to compare it to, structure, are there 'dads in it? etc. Pm me if you wish. Thanks.

I grew up in Vernal and I have fished it a fair bit. It all depends on whether the water is high or not. With higher water, the fish will congregate on the edges in the typical cover spots. I do well with frogs, jigs, senkos etc.

If the water is lower they tend to stick to points and off shore structure. Use your graph to try to locate mid water humps. If they don't eat a jig, they will ALWAYS eat an aaron's magic robo worm on a drop shot.

Also, they stock many o' tiny rainbow trout in there. Get yourself a sebile swimmer in rainbow trout color and hang on. There are some TOADS in there.
