Hit Cascade on Saturday, June 26th. Didn't make it there until about 1PM. Fished on the west side near the Christian Church Camp a ways north of French Creek.
We were bank-yanking with two rods set up with bobbers and jigs, hoping for perch and one rod on the bottom with a worm and garlic marshmellow hoping for trout. Any water we could cast to was pretty dirty from the wind when we started out. Caught about a 14 inch Bullhead right off, followed by a 11.5 inch perch. The perch got me perked up and I was hoping for about 600 or so, but the next 3 fish were all Bullheads. Having no action on the bobber rigs we switched all to the bottom. After an hour or two the wind died down and once the water cleared up the trout started biting. We landed several. A couple 12ish, a couple 17-19ish, and one that was 24ish in length. Also lost a few in the 17-19 range as well as one that felt much larger, but never saw. It took a hard run part way in and broke my line with ease. I think it was pretty big, but can't be sure. I'll bet most reading this will understand what I mean. Anyway, worm and garlic marshmellow seemed to be the ticket for the trout. Also worked on one perch. Oh yeah, and 4 bullheads. Almost forgot that was a fish.
