My family is vacationing in the area the 3rd week in July. I would like some tips on fishing the area. We are staying on Rose Lake. I will have a bunch of gear and a fishing kayak. Rigged with fly rods, spinning rods, bait casters and Zebco's for the kids. Parachute Adams to a coffee can of worms! Whatever works.

I will prefer to get out and do some fly fishing. Where to go for some wade fishing and what works would be appreciated.

Maybe recommend a guide service for a crash course early in the week.

Thanks in advance!

Keep yer fly dry! [shocked]

See the attached web site for the local fishing shop/guide service. They can help you. However, their fishing report is usually not up-to-date. Also, the Coeur d'Alene Press has a very good weekly fishing report. It can be found under a drop-down under "news". Finally, Black Sheep can also give good advice. Mike

Here is the latest report. I was going to attach it above. Good luck. Mike

Mike has you covered on where to get local info. Thompson, Anderson and Cave Lakes were always my favorite chain lakes to fish. Great area for kids to catch some fish and that kayak will get you into some great LM and Pike areas of the lakes. If you get a chance run up 90 to Wallace or above and cross over the NF of the Joe and come down through Avery (yeap that's where my son got his name from) to St. Maries and hwy 3 back to Rose Lake. Great day trip through some awsome country. Enjoy it and post some pic when you get back!
