I know there are a few dedicated bass fisherman who harass Utah Lake regularly. I met a fellow who targets them specifically (and frequently)...and he does quite well. I spent my teenage years catching largemouth and spotted bass in East Texas. I love them but we spent a lot of money on expensive crankbaits, stanley jigs, spinner baits, buzz baits, lizards, and worms. All work. Some work better than others. In fact, I spent a couple of weeks down there end of May/first week of June and caught several 2-3 pound largies on my favorite Utah Lake jigs. I haven't spent much time targeting largemouth at Utah Lake but I have still caught quite a few. I have caught them on tube jigs, curly tail jigs, and crawler on a bream hook. I've caught them in shallower water most recently. They are done spawning but you still could catch a few that are raiding the shallows looking for fry. That is just my two cents. Again, I'm no Utah Lake LMB expert but I have caught them.
