[fishin][#ff0000]spent the holiday weekend up at my buddies cabin in woodland "east of kamas". got up early saturday morning for a trip down to deer creek! left the cabin at about 5am and headed for the reservoir to see if we could get into the smallies from the shore. we arrived at the lake at about 6am @ to our amazement there was noone at the day use so we parked and off we went. the fishing was steady from the start, catching them on crainkbaits, tubejigs, curlytails and even one on a topwater plug. the fishing was steady the whole time. most bass were 8-9 inches with the occaisonal 12"er, and the biggest being around 14". all in all a good day of smallie heaven. around 9am we decided to head back to the cabin b4 the full force of yahoos decided it was time to set up right on top of us. we drove back to the cabin and had some breakfast waiting for us "what a morning". i still had the bug... so off to the ponds i went. now these ponds arent your ordinary ponds. these ponds are stocked full of rainbows and i mean rainbows on steroids. these fish get planted every year and hardly anyone fishes them "with the exception of us" so these fish get huge, and the ponds are only like 50 ft across and 100 ft long so per sq ft theres tons of fish. i proceeded to pull fish in left and right on anything i used. flies, spinners, worm, powerbait, even a rapala. they were all nice sized 15" ers with the ocassional planter 10". caught around 20 or so and let all but 2 go. the biggest one being 18" and the 2nd being just about 17" are the ones i kept. i had a wonderful weekend, and truly feel blessed to have a place like that that i can frequent often. hope everyone had a wonderful independence day weekend and enjoy the pics.[/#ff0000]
