hi ladies i am going to go fishing with my boyfriend this weekend at cascade lake. he told me to dress appropriately for fishing this time. last time i wore a skort, matching tee and birkinstocks. what is unappropriate about this for cascade fishing?

evinin mam i aint a lady but i know sweat pants an a t-shirt with sneakers is good fer fishin. ya can wear shorts underneath them sweat pants iffin it get to hot. an ye can wear a tube top under the t-shirt fer the same reason. he might be worried about skeeters gettin ya. fer a new boyfriend seems like a control freak....maybe ya need to be mentored fishin by a new feller[bobyell][bobyell][bobyell]

As long as you are not complaining about being cold, getting eaten by skeeter, or something else clothing related, I don't see what it should matter.
At least during the day, what you described you wore last time seems fine. Might want to layer up with something over the top and bottom early, late, or foul weather, otherwise I don't understand his complaint.

I am a girl and fish a lot. Wear things that are comfortable for you, protect you from the sun, mosquitoes, and brush.
Are you on the shore or in a boat? If you are on the shore you might need shoes that you don't mind getting muddy and long pants if you are going through brush. As was said think about layers. You can wear shorts underneath etc. A light long sleeve shirt or jacket can help with the skeeters in the evening or with the sun. Use sun block and maybe have some bug repellent with you.
Use the repellent liberally on the boyfriend if he is not more helpful and complains anymore! Fishing should be a joint activity where both have fun not just one, so enjoy it and have fun.

[#000050]I'd dump the control freak and wear a tiny bikini...then you could pick anybody you want and get in the nicest boat of your choice...[cool][/#000050]

To me, appropriate clothing is all about the layers. I just got back from the Continental Divide and it was 58 degrees yesterday and frost on the car and toons this morning.
My suggestion is thin skin underwear, topped off with wading pants...nylon/polyester (something that dries very quickly and doesn't weigh a tone when it does get wet like cotton)
Zip off legs are awesome. Top, long sleeve fishing shirt. The kind that have the vent in the back, roll up sleeves and light color for the Mosquitos.
A Buzz-Off and a UV coating would be the ultimate.
The John boat is not a luxury boat. Flat bottom, metal seats (most of them, some do have regular boat seats) and NO bathroom. One of those pottie bottles are a good answer.
