Funny thing...went to my usual spot but it was closed for police dog field training. So I was mad and had to go to the pond next to it. Waded in since the water level was low and threw a football jig, weightless trigged senko and got nothing. It got darker and I threw a black popper (not sure what it is - solid black, red lip, hook in middle and on end that is covered in a sparkly white skirt type thing) and caught a dink pictured first. Was about to leave so I threw it at some really shallow grass and got another one on that felt nice, but he came off . Threw it again and BAM immediately got this big one! New PB and I'm super pumped after not catching anything my last few times out!! Woohoo!!

smaller one, maybe 1.5lbs? didn't measure


now the PB! coming in at 6.3lbs using the calculator on this site. 21inches long, 14.5inches around




Goin back to the spot tomorrow night for some more! Topwater is awesome!!

Very nice fish. Top water is the best in my book. When the bite is on, theres nothing more fun. I'm still waiting to get one that size. [cool]

Nice fish! To help you out the lure you described sounds like a Hula popper by Arbogast. Just guessing though.
