I asked my friend if he wanted to go catch some Gill's at Oquirrh Hills Lake. I normally just have a bobber and fly. I decided to try fly fishing it. Any tecniques to fly fishing?? Help would be AWESOME!!

I don't find that you need a lot of technique for blue gills. Small red fly's like a serendipity. cast it out,let it sink (no weight) twitch it a little, let it sit, twitch it a little, let it sit.

Serendipity? Cool, never thought of that one. I have caught Gill at Pelican on a BLACK hasbro and other places on a PINK FLOYD.
I agree on no special attack. They aren't too shy.

Most nymphs such as hare's ears and dragons will take them as well as wooly buggers. In the afternoons they will take small surface flies also.

may also want to try a 12 - 14 wooly worm... gills and other sun fish have a blast on em...
