I keep hearing from some of the old timers that East Canyon used to have a bunch of Kokanee in it. I've also heard from a few people there is still a small population of Kokanee in East Canyon. Sounded like a bunch of crap to me but when you keep hearing the same story from different groups of people it makes you wonder. Can anyone verify if this is fact or fiction?

I use to fish for them quite a bit back in the late 70's. They ran typically 12 to 14 inches with a few a little larger. I haven't heard about them much in the last 20 years or so.

Although they used to be in there, it is highly unlikely that they persist. They died out because of a combination of water quality degradation and higher water demands/diversion by Jeremy Ranch/Park City area.

I'm not saying its impossible for them to still be in there, but after literally decades of no observed spawning, it isn't very likely to find any (but don't ever say never) [Wink]. Certainly not worth trying to target them.
