Well, I am thinking about making a trip to PV tomorrow for some musky. I haven't read many reports and am wondering if the tiger musky population may be way down.

It's been a couple years since I have been up there for the TM and am open to any pointers or tips or lures you might have to share.

There are plenty of muskie in pineview, no shortage at all this year. I went up there today with my girlfriend in search of crappie and tiger muskie and managed six different species. We caught 7 crappie but all were 6 inches or smaller, 2 large mouth bass around 14 inches, a dozen or so smallmouth bass with the biggest being about 12 inches, about 40 perch and bluegill and 2 muskies. We fished from the flooded shallows to the deeper gravel areas. We were in the south fork area all day long. The crappies came out of water at 30 feet deep and they were suspended about 18-20. We saw clouds of crappies on our sonar but only hooked the dinks at the top of the column. If you are going for muskies they were caught in thick vegetation in water about 10 feet deep. We caught both ours with some white 3" curly tail jigs. Both were caught while we were actually deflating and prepping our pontoons to go home around 8:30 p.m. We didn't see any rising or sunning or any big fish on our fishfinders all day long. While we were packing up we saw some swirl so tied on some lead leader and the lures. We only casted to muskies we saw swirling and landed two around 32-36 inches within ten minutes of each other. We saw some nice muskies at 40+ inches but couldn't get them to play. I'll attach some pictures.

My friend went up three days ago and caught 7 muskies at pineview with a partner. He was using jointed rapalas sixe 11-13 and soft baits in the 7 inch range in perch and white colors. I saw pics and they were much better than the ones we managed to catch. He fished the shallower flooded timber and said he caught all of them in the evening from 7 PM until dark.

Good luck on your muskie hunt and hopefully you post a nice report!!!
Oh also no photoshopping here! But i guess she doesn't know i post!

I went up to pineview on wed. hoping to put my boy on his first ever muskie. Took him all of 4 cast to hook into him. Ended up being the only one we caught. Did catch a bass and ended the day catching about 100 tiny perch. Picture is a little blurry but gives ya an idea. Didnt measure it but it did weigh 16 lbs.
