I have had a ton of success for the smallies at da nell, but I can't catch the trout there for the life of me. I have a boat and fish finder, any help would be great.

I've had hit and miss success at the nell for trout. If fishing from the shore, I seemed to do best dragging crawlies behind a bobber to avoid the snags. Being that it's still a pretty young res, i've pulled out LUNKER sagebrush, ha. [

] I've also had success from the boat at the south end along the wall, dragging a crawlie tipped with a piece of gulp bait along the bottom with a really slow retrieve. There was one instance, that had to be shear luck, that i pulled in a 30" brown on PB...yes, PB of all things to land a nice brown on. Hope this helps at least a little! Best of luck, and keep fishin!

I was out early one morning and trolling right next to the gas dock and a five pound Brown slammed my gear. He must have been hiding under the boat docks. That was fun. Most of the Browns I have caught have been up near the river inlet early in the year.

Try trolling with the typical trout lures just outside of the no-wake buoys out from the personal watercraft ramp.

Wow, nice Brown, is that the 30 incher you were talking about above? I've heard stories about 30" browns in the Nell but few folks post pictures to back up their claim, thanks for sharing your picture.

Yep, that's him. And like i mentioned, it was just dumb luck i think. No skill at all, unfortunately, haha. I've been hunting one just like him ever since.
