[#000050] Decided to park the boat and get the pontoon out for some early morning fishing on DC. Launched at the island ramp at 5:30AM to mostly calm waters. There is a lot of weeds and bugs floating on top. Watched the big carp with their heads out of the water "skimming" the surface with their mouths open, scooping up bugs. It was a great morning until the heat came on about 10:00AM. Caught 8 pretty nice fatty Rainbows and one Brown around the island and West near the highway on the steep drop offs.[/#000050]
[#000050]Sundays are great fishing days, not much traffic out at all on the lake and only one wake boarder. [cool][/#000050]

[#000050]I did not mark any fish in water shallower than 30' so stayed pretty much in 50' or deeper. I trolled with weighted pop gear and about 30' deep. I saw several boats up in the flats or in the river bed, but they didn't stay long. Don't know if they were trolling or bottom bouncing for eyes. I don't have water temp on my small sonar so couldn't tell you what it was, but it's really warm. The fish I caught were really acrobatic and fun, jumping out of the water several times. Unusual for summer..[unimpressed][/#000050]

There are some nice Rainbows and Browns, we caught over 20 Bows and 2 Browns last time out. We usually catch some Eyes by the island where the river channel comes around the island.
