[#0000bf]I'm starting to wonder if I should try Utah Lake more. The reports lately have been really good, and my friend just caught an 8 pound catfish a couple days ago. (of course with my luck, I'll go next week and it'll all slow down!)
Which places, if any, can I go night fishing at UL and not worry about camping fees? The two free places at Willard are apparently more or less inaccessible* to me... would UL be any better?
* not within walking distance on flat ground... sometimes I hate being a gimp!

The Knolls and Lincoln Beach are both free. Lincoln Beach is further away for you, but a much nicer place to fish from (has a bathroom and other people should be around). You can also access the lake just south of the Lindon Boat Harbor at what is known as The Bubble Up, but not sure what the conditions are there these days for fishing from the shore.

[cool][#0000ff]Lindon might be a good bet. There is a $6 Daily fee for parking and fishing and you can park and fish right next to the car...inside the harbor or outside. There is only a $2 or $3 walk in fee but I am betting that if you talk sweet to Mark...the owner...he would give you some consideration.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Lots of cats caught both inside and outside the harbor at Lindon and they have a new store and also restroom facilities.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I will second the recommendation for fishing off the south dike at Lincoln Beach. It is a long drive but you know that from the get together we had down there.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I wouldn't recommend the area south of Lindon. Poor casting access from shore and the area is known for "unlawful" activities...even during the daytime. It is another free county park, like Lincoln Beach, but is not a place I would send a single angler to fish.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]And, unless you knew the Knolls well you might have problems finding and catching fish. But, the Pelican Bay marina...between Saratoga Springs and the Knolls...is free access to non boaters and fairly easy access to fish the rock dikes surrounding the harbor. That is in a nice area and is well patrolled. Nice restroom facilities and there are some good fish caught there at times. Very busy during the weekend and after about noon on weekdays.[/#0000ff]

I will agree with Kent. Linclon beach (fishing off the east end of the south jetty) would give you best access but its around on the south east end of UL.
The "bubble up" picnic/day use spot which is about 1/4 mile south of Lindon boat harbor would provide fairly easy access onto a sand beach. Water depth would be the problem there but with a long cast you could drop your offering into some kittie fish depth.. Yesterday most of the kitties put in our boat came from water depths of 18" to 3.5 feet.. Shrimp was the hot ticket but white bass, carp meat did well as did shiners. We used a bobber and allow the breeze (what there was) drift the offerings around a little. We dropped anchor at 7am and fished several locations along the northern shore. All stops produced well and the bite was still on when we loaded the boat at 3pm. No monster males where hooked up but a ton of cookie cutters hens kept the day interesting.
