Just got home from willard there where a few boils but very little ones that only lasted 10 or 15 sec. Did manage to boat three and lose a few more sorry no pics today got in the water with my phone in my pocket hopefully it will work in the morn.

101, I was out there also. couldn't solve the wiper challenge. Saw one caught out of a boil on a castmaster. Caught one 18 inch walleye trolling a deep shadrap. Water temp was a hot 81F. One hint to the boil chasers: if you don't drive directly into a boil they might stay up a little longer and other chasers might have a chance, also. TD

I have never had a problem driving right into a boil. I used to sneek up on them with the bow mount, not any more. I learned a few year ago that they are done when there done. I cant tell you how may times I have dropped plane right in the middle of one only to have them smacking the bottom of my boat right off the bat. When I chase em now, the big motor never shuts off and bow mount dont hit the water, less time to be ready to go to the next one. Your boat does not affect em when they are in that feeding frenzy. I hope your not trying to hit the same boil I am, I have seen them stop feeding just from a boat passing by...

Dont get me wrong, I wont run in the middle of anyone fishing a boil. Aside from the 150ft wakeless rule (that nobody cares about) and the manners of the lake, I dont want to be an A-hole. As far as Im concerned I will find my own. Im sure If there boiling there, there doing it somewhere else. Willard is a big lake, no need to crowd everyone on the same boil. And I was just stating what I have observed. I found it to be more productive to plow right into them and cast than waste time sneeking up, especially if they are short duration boils. My catch rate went up and theres a certain thrill chasing em around, gives me another reason to use the binoculars in the boat (rather that just looking at eye candy[Wink]).

If you put your phone in a zip-lock bag with rice in it, all the water will come out!

Like the other feller said, stick your phone in a bag of rice. I hope you took the battery out a.s.a.p. If you took the battery out, and you leave it in the rice for at least a couple days, and take a vacuum to it once or twice a day, you might be alright. I am using a phone right now that went in the drink at Willard while loading the boat. I did all that, (left it in rice for a week, vacuumed twice a day) and it works great.

It's a lot funner to fish your own boil too. We've had people cut our lines because they wanted to jump on a boil. People suk lol. What's the best is when they start to boil where you already are. [Wink]

Thats happened to me in the fall, I'll be bottom bouncin for walleye and all of the sudden the water will erupt from under the boat. I actually brought both rods up so the crawler was just barely in the water to grab a casting rod and BOOM, had wiper on both bouncin rods right next to the boat! Talk about excitement (and a tangled mess[crazy]). But if im fishing a boil or an area that the boils are happening in I have in the past, and still will, flag down other boats I see cruisin for poppin wiper. Those fish were bought and planted with all of our money and should be enjoyed by everyone[cool].
