Went up to the Gorge Friday afternoon, we got there about 7:00 the wind was kicking around 30 mph or so it seemed..

We hit the first spot after going through a few white caps and Brent got a nice smallie and down the bank a ways he got another then he got his trolling motor and it put up the biggest fight of all, it took about all his line that the reel had...

We spent the next hour just trying to get the line out and he broke the nut that holds the prop on as well...

The next morning at 5:00 we headed for the boat ramp new nut in place, we fished all the way down to hide out and a ways past picking up a bass here and there but the fishing was not hot but the sun made up for that...

Water temps was 67 when we launched and at 4:00 when we loaded up to head home it was 74, we seen deer and sheep along the water in some spots and the pets in camp grounds as well...

It was a fun trip but not as many bass as we hop[ed for but thats fishing...

I would love to fish for bass at the Gorge but wouldn't have a clue to where to begin. Where do you launch from and which way do you go. My father had a cabin in Manilla for many years so I am familiar with the lake. It appears that it may be the wrong time of year to head up there but a fall trip might be a good time. Any info would be helpful. Thanks Bassrods!

Manilla is a good place to go out of and just about any rocky out cropping can have bass on it, just find what they want...

Tubes is a good lure to start with or grubs in greens or browns and work from there..
