I want to thank all for welcoming me as a new moderator. I will try my best in helping out and learning the ropes as a moderator.
Now for a fishing story. We left on Wed morning to head for Phillips Res out of Baker City, OR. All was going well until 8 miles out of Baker City I switched over to my other fuel tank in my truck and it wouldn't switch. So here we are sitting on the side of the freeway trying to start the truck and no dice. We called my daughter in Boise and she was able to get hold of a towing company in Baker City and 20 minutes later a tow truck shows up. $200+ for the tow and we are sitting at the repair shop. I didn't know they charge for the truck, camper on the truck and the boat as separate entities even tho they are all together. Interesting to say the least!! At least my insurance should pay for most of that bill.
The mechanic can't get any fuel pressure reading from the fuel tanks past the switching module so he has to order a new module out of Portland and needless to say it won't get there till Thursday morning. Now I'm a happy camper. NOT!!!!
We have reservations at the campground and can't get there until sometime Thursday. So we finally get hold of the campgound host and tell them not to give away our spot as we are stranded. They agree to hold our spot for us. So we get to spend the night behind the garage with gas smell coming up from under the truck into the camper as we can't move. We ask the mechanic if we can borrow a shovel to put dirt over the gas spill and we get that buried and decide to walk about a mile to a restaurant while that smell disappears. When we get back most of the smell is gone.
The next day the part comes in at 8:30 AM and we are back on the road at 9:30 AM, minus another $400+ and keeping our fingers crossed that we make it the rest of the way. Finally we are set up in our campsite.
OK, now for the fun part. We go out Friday morning to check out the lake as we haven't been here for about 8 years. We hit a couple of spots and I manage to catch a 2 and 3/4 lb smallie. So we quit fishing as we don't want to sore mouth the bass since the tournament is the next day.
Saturday tournament day and I manage to win and my wife comes in third. I'm the only one with a limit of 5 fish and my big fish is 3 lbs. My wife's big fish is 2 and 1/2 lbs. Big fish for the tourney was 3 and 1/4 lbs.
Pictures in order are: our campsite which is beautiful, big fish of the tourney, wife's big fish and my big fish.
