<br /> Decided to take Norman down to the Riverpark for some mid summer topwater action. Lets just say the guide sucked today. We headed downtown to chase my pets and on about my 3rd cast I hook a toad on a tube. The bass jumped 2-3 times and I got it all the way to the boat when the hook straighten out and pulled. The fish was 4-4.5 lbs and was a chunk. The tube was one I had been using on the lake and I guess the hooked has gotten weak.<br /> The spots were nowhere to be found today. Probably the worst spot fishing trip I have evey been on. We did however find a big school of cats and flat wore them out. Ended up boated 9 blues and 3 channels and lost another 5-6. All cats came on drop shotted Glup minnows. Nothing big but did have a 5lb blue and a channel around 7 lbs or so. <br /> We finally got 3 spots in the boat and a 15&amp;quot; or so smallie. Found a small group of google eyes and boated 5 of them on drop shot. Also got a bluegill on a jigging spoon. Norman also got a crappie on a small fluke.<br /> Gave up downtown and rode back up river to fish some deep holes. Fished the edge of one and hooked a nice 3-3.5 lb bass, neither of us got a good look at it when it jumped due to the sun glare but we think it was a largemouth or spot. Very nice fish either way. Norman added a drum to our list on a jigging spoon. Gave up completely at 10 and went home.<br /> Totals for today: 3 spots, 1 smallie, 1 crappie, 9 blue cats, 3 channel cats, 1 drum and 1 bluegill. Like I said the guide sucked today for bass. <br /> Thanks for riding we me today Norman, I owe you a make up trip.
