We were close to being in the money last night. One more good fish and we might of had a check. They paid ten places and we were 15th. We did win a free entry into the next one and also got a $40 GC to a good place to eat for fifteenth place. emoThumbsup It was a long night last night and I am still a little fuzzy. Those 12 hour marathons can really do you in. We took off in 49th and headed down river to hit some humps. Nothing but one drum. emoRolleyes Hit some drops and then some rocks but still nothing. I was starting to think the bass had gone in to get out of the heat. Ran back up river and hit a couple more humps. Nothing...... emoConfused Moved to some grass flats and boated a couple slicks but no keepers. It was dark now and I changed everything over to black and blue. Black and blue jig, blade, shakey, buzz and worm. About tenish we headed to a couple humps in the river that were 12 to 22 foot. We got on a bunch of bass on them but they all were sick with short sickness. Finally boated our first keeper on a eight inch black worm t-rigged. It was about 16 feet. Got another good one on but must have had a bad spot in my line cause it broke. emoMad Then the bass came up trying to throw the worm. emoMad Sounded pretty good from the jump. After several little ones Colby finally showed up with a nice keeper on a drop shot with a black worm.

We moved from there due to mostly shorts and tried several other places. We kept throwing blades since me and Wiskers did well on them in the CFF but not one bass took a blade for us last night. emoScratch It was slow for keepers however many said they did no good at all. We at least were getting shorts. We started hitting docks and I boated another one that was 3.5 lbs and a 2.5 lbs, again they were on a worm. Colby took a nap. emoPoke By this time it was 3 a.m. We hit three more places with just a couple more shorts. Four nice bass in the well but I decided to take a nap also. It was near 5 am and I slept for an hour till six. emoSmile

Got going again and this time Colby woke up as well. We hit some grass flats and found a good area. We nailed several on shakeys. emoTongue I added another 3 lber and then Colby added a three lber that we culled up with. Caught several with a couple keepers but only one keeper would help that we culled with again. Time was getting short so we headed in. We ended up with five nice bass in the well. Our best five were 3.5 lbs, 3, 3, 2.5, and 2.5 lbs for a total we had 14.40 lbs. Like I said we were 15th, we needed one more good fish and we might of had our first check on the CBA trail. emoToast

Had a good time, boated in all about 30 bass, the tournament as always was run well and Colby was a good partner even thou he did sleep for about 3 hours. emoBig Jmax
