So I started the morning talking my 6 yr old into comming fishing with us up to Mantua for some 'gills. He wanted to stay home(that was the sleep talkin) but I offered a "big prize" if he came and didn't catch anything. That got him motivated enough and as I predicted he had blast hanging the Batman pole over the side of the boat and pulling up bluegill after bluegill. He actually had the hot jig I guess(a new jig I thought might be fun to try at Mantua) and on one fish, his pole was bending clear into the water so I figured he had a decent bass on but then it flashed and I knew he had a GOOD 'gill on. When he brought it up into the boat he flipped out because that was the biggest bluegill we'd ever seen. It's the largest bluegill I've ever seen caught. It measured 10" length and 9 3/4" girth! I checked the proc just to see what the Utah state record is(11 1/2inches from Mantua) but it is definitely the record in our family. It was great to hear him talkin smack to his older brother after that one now that he was the "Master" and "Pro Kid".
