Some of you wanted to see how to build crawfish traps. That other thread was very good but getting very long so I started this one.

I'll add my opinion on bait. Fish work the best in my experience. I keep the skeletons of the bigger fish I fillet throughout the year and they'll out fish chicken or cat food every time. The other tip I have is look for coves that the wind dumps any dead critters floating on the surface. Just look for piles of garbage and wood. These places are over run with fat well fed crawfish. There are coves up at Ririe where the bottom is absolutely carpeted with crawfish eating dead birds and fish.
