Any reports or advice on moon lake and surrounding area's? The family and I will be up there the rest of this week for vacation. Thanks Lonnie

thanks for the link, are you allowed to put a tube with electric motor in there? i would check the regs, but i cant seem to connect via my phone.

Yes, you allowed to put a tube with electric motor in there.
I have had my boat on the lake there and I don't believe there isn't a wakeless restriction. The only problem I've had there is when the water level gets low, it is easy to get stuck on the beach when you launch as they don't have a concrete ramp.

Ditto to what Wiperhunter2 said. They rent aluminum boats with gas motors at the lodge. Usually the biggest problem with taking a boat up there is getting it out of the water. I have seen many a 4x4 buried to the axles trying to pull the boat out on the sandy beach.

It just wouldn't be a trip to Moon lake without seeing someone stuck in the sand trying to launch or recover a boat. Also be aware of the no seeum bugs that can eat you alive. Boats with motors are allowed so your tube with a motor should be fine. Might try at the north east corner of the lake where the second stream comes in. Most people won't hike in that far but always did good there when the scouts went each year.
