Dr Phillip and I launched this AM early trying to get to one of our hot spots before the crowd. It was still dark when we launched, but alas, someone was sitting on the spot that we wanted to try when we arrived there. They were still there when we came back downriver about 2 hours later. We just kept on trucking on up the lake and hit spot #2 and it turned out to be very good. 18 crappie and about 2 hours later, we moved and fished some docks that I haven't fished in a long time and without success. I remember why I don't fish those docks anymore. emoBig

We stopped at slab point and landed 7 more crappie, 1 rock bass, and 1 keeper largemouth bass. We were about 1.5 hours past the best feeding period, and stopped on the controversial dock ( emoBig ) and landed 3 more nice keeper crappie on the way back to Tyner lane ramp. I don't believe that I have seen as many boats out so early as they were this morning. Even the chiggers got out at 9:15. It is usually 10:15 when they begin to churn the water.

We caught our fish (28 crappie, 1 white bass, 1 rock bass, 1 lm) on 1/32 oz jigs with bobby garland plastics attached via the krazy glue method. Phil caught several crappie on a monkey milk color and he had to glue it back up about 4 or 5 times to keep it on the hook. It was the only one that I had. I experimented with a few different colors and caught some fish on each color that I tried with patriot being the best color for me. Fish were deep mostly and not very aggressive. Phil kept one limit of crappie and I kept the bass for Wanda for supper. We released several fish up to 10.75 inches, but if they don't measure 11", they don't get to ride in the Tyner Lane shuttle. emoBig emoGeezer Quit fishing at 10:30. Boy, it feels good to have the honey do jobs over with and back on the water.
