I took a late evening trip back to Parksville to map out some more areas, and trolled some crank baits while easing around again. This time I stayed on the upper end mostly. Didn't really concentrate on points as I did last week, but tried to work channel ledges a little bit more.
Caught 3 spots, one of which was really small, and one good one about 2 lbs. Not sure where the concentrations of bass are in there other than back in the coves... All three came on a crawfish patterned bait, in about 15-20 FOW.
I like doing this as it forces me to stay around 4 MPH watching the sonar, so I am getting a good read on water depths and channels, points, etc. because of the slow speed. It is surprising where you will find the deep and shallow waters up there sometimes, I have a lot of more water to cover.

And for those keeping track of Spur-luck.
While consumed with watching the sonar one time, I had a second rod out and in a rod-holder. I heard it bang around and realized that it got hung, then stripped ALL the line off the reel and left me with a bare spool. DOH!
Then on the ride home, I felt some commotion with the trailer, thought possibly a dock line had blow out and got hung in the wheels, nope, had a tire seperate and peeled like a banana. I got lucky and was able to make it home without it popping. Gotta love Spur-luck.
