Took the boat and boys to UL this afternoon. Even against better judgment with the storm on the horizon. Thinking it might not come to the east we went anyway.

Got to the spot and threw a worm and bobber out looking for kitties. Kids starting throwing plastics for whities picking them up pretty quick. Caught about a dozen in 40 minutes when my wife called from Saratoga Springs where she works and said it was raining and hailing .

So we decided to leave got back to AF harbor just as the hail hit.

No looks from the kitties but grabbed a few whites to fry.

Boys had fun but hated to cut it short.

Please describe the plastics you were throwing for the white bass?

I was using 1.5 inch red sparkle and chartruse (tubedudes cr killer) my boys had on 2" & 3" curl tails in chartruse or yellow with black heads. They didnt seem to care about color as much as none really caught more than the others
Biggest ones were 12" and smallest were about 6" . We threw back about 10 of the smaller ones.

Thanks. If I make it down catfishing again I want to catch a few ASAP for bait.

Just got home from UL. Provo river inlet. Caught a ton of white bass in all size ranges. Chart 1.5-2" curly tail grubs tandum rigged or a spinner by TD chart, red, with a silver blade. Tons of doubles, the schools are in the river.

Kent, we slayed the whities at Lincoln Beach last weekend. Very simple, just troll around in 3-6 ft of water at a fairly slow speed. We trolled several colors of jigs as well as Eagle Claw snelled spinners tipped with plastic grubs. The darker colors and blades seemed to work better as it got darker. We must've gotten at least 50-60 or more... I wasn't counting!
