Colby and I got out a little later than we wanted too. Started off putting gas in the boat, and colby puts too much in, so we had to circle around back to the house to get some more oil emoBang emoUp emoBig LOL
Made the first cast by 8AM and the last cast by 1PM.
Started the day out fishing up in some pockets, throwing spinnerbaits... not much luck at all, hooked up with a couple small fish.
After a while we headed out to the main lake and started fishing a bank that comes off shallow for a good ways (not really a point). Marked lots of fish and wore the fish out for a good 10-15 minutes with the dropshot before they caught on to what we were doing as usual. Had about 12 or 13 in the boat by 8:50.
Messed around a little while longer out on the main lake not having much more luck with the dropshot.
Eventually we got back into a couple coves just off the mainlake and into one of the creeks for the next couple hours.
Threw the blade through most of that time... bite was slow but worked our way up one fish at a time. It was worth it, caught some big redbreast (I think thats what they are). Caught a total of 7 or 8 of them. With 4 being pretty big (over 10&quot We caught a few small spots, also had two spots going over 2.5lb. Biggest was an 18", but didnt have too much of a belly on him.
Had boated about 25 fish by 12:15 or so... headed back out on the mainlake and ran by a couple points we havent fished in a while to see if there was anything holding on to them. First one was a bust, did not mark a single fish. Headed to another, and picked up 4 or 5 more off the dropshot. Finished the day out with about 30 fish including those redbreast?, plenty of spots and a short fat LM.
Not a bad morning at all, weather was great... wind never was a problem until later on. Gotta love mornings like that, I know I do. emoToast emoThumbsup
