Was not sure I was going this morning, I was a little under the weather. I woke up early and just could not stand it. Decided to try and go, figured if I started feeling bad I would just go home. Had a pretty interested morning. For me it was very slow. I started on the main river jigging spoons, drops and cranks. Had a keeper spot about 1.5 lbs and a 2 lb keeper large mouth. Left there and hit a couple shell beds, nothing. Headed for a couple points and again nothing. Hit one of the humps I like to go to and had the best bass I have had all year. emoSmile It was just under seven pounds. About tore the rod out of my hands. I thought at first it was a big cat or drum. I figured with me not in a tournament today I would catch a good one. emoRolleyes About ten minutes later I had another good one but she was only three pounds. Try as I did I could not get anything else there. Two fish only, 10 lbs. emoThumbsup Headed for some grass flats and only could find shorts. The grass is really filling in and hard to fish a shakey through it. It was about eleven so I started flipping docks and looking for shade under them. I managed one more keeper at 2.75 pound, a couple more slicks and one more keeper spots right at 12 inches. All of those were on the shakey.

I heard thunder off in the distance and it was noon. I decided to call it a day. Not a bad morning for me. Had those six keepers with the best three at 12.75 and the best five at 16.25. The weights sure look good when you got a seven to anchor them. emoBig

Sorry but I had no camera, I wish I had for that big one. emoSorry

C-ya on the water.... emoAngler Jmax
