I was ask how I catch as many fish that I do when I go fishing, and how I find them...
Well this is a part of how and why I think it works...
First if you plan to or want to catch big fish don't keep the fish all you can catch is your limit, witch is from four to six fish and will not show you how or where the bigger fish may be or what they will hit...
Its like when I or any bass fisherman is pre- fishing for a tournament they look for what cover each size of fish ( lets use bass for now) and water depth each size of bass is at, and what food they my be eating at this time...
Then what lure my look and move to match, color size and so on..
One way to help with this is to read the reports on this and other sites, but look for things like water depth what the bigger fish was caught on and if on points or flats trees or grass rocks and so on... But if you keep the fish all you will know is what those fish wanted and if it takes you four or more hours to catch them you are using the wrong bait for that lake that day...
That is for the most part true for all fish, most of the times of the year the fish will move and hunt in packs or schools and if you are using the right bait you should catch more then one fish in just a few cast in the same area, that is why a lot of us C&R most of the time...
The more you fish and or catch the more you will learn but keeping the fish can and will keep you from learning what is really going on with the bigger fish and where and how to catch them, but if you keep the fish those are fish you or others will not catch the next time you go fishing...( unless they are fish that gets planed..) .Pick a size of fish you want to catch and then learn where and what they want to eat...
Think back to other posts about the Berry and the Cuts or bows, one lure that works for a lot is a tube of one color or another but for manly a certain size of fish for the most part some talk of catching 40 or more fish in lets say 18" to 21" and only a very few over that, and others may be using say a lucky craft lure in pink [] and may have got 10 fish but all or most was over 25", Its not fishing what may catch the most but what a size of fish wants that day for the bigger fish or size and number of fish you are happy in catching...
This is for the most part true for all fishing, fly fishing as well or bait...But if you want to catch lots of fish you must set a goal weather you are happy with four fish days or 100 fish days, ten inch fish or 30" fish...
